2 killed, 9 injured in Langa taxi rank shooting

CAPE TOWN- Two taxi drivers have been killed and nine others injured in a taxi rank shooting in Langa Cape Town on Thursday morning.

Spokesperson for Western Cape police, Lieutenant Colonel André Traut said nine people were injured, aged between 15 and 45 years old, all were admitted to hospital.

The killers fled the scene shortly after the attack around 08:13 on Thursday morning, Traut said.

The killings are to believed to be related to taxi violence in relation to taxi routes in the area.

A task team has been developed to tackle this issue and the Western Cape police has asked the community for any information to contact Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
