Harare- Two Zimbabwean men have died after participating in recruitment exercises for a security officer position.
Public office recruitment has drawn continuous criticism over the years in Zimbabwe, as the recruitment process draws in thousands of people just for a few positions.
The two were among huge group vying for limited positions.
The Civil Aviation confirmed that they were injured during a selection run but they later died in hospital.
According to sources by AFP, the recruitment exercise, was held in the main airport in Harare, the process was chaotic, several others were taken to hospital after suffering injuries due to the exercises.
No travellers were affected.
According to economic figures, formal employment is at 10%, Zimbabweans are desperate for work and unfortunately the selection runs occasionally end in tragedy.
Local reports have reported that the two men died from exhaustion after they pushed themselves too hard.
