
JOHANNESBURG- A police official has confirmed that twenty people have arrested in Pretoria in connection with the deadly turf war between metered taxi drivers and Uber and Taxify drivers.
A Taxify driver was killed in Sunnyside recently after he was beaten, then burnt to death after he was found in his boot of his Taxify car.
The arrests are supposedly are linked to the feud between the two.
Daniel Mavimbe a police official said, “The police are currently leading a multi-disciplinary team of role players who are charged with the responsibility of curbing taxi-related violence in areas like Brooklyn, Centurion, Pretoria central, Silverton and Sunnyside.”
