DURBAN- KwaZulu Natal emergency medical services had confirmed on Sunday that nine people have died and 10 others were injured following a collision between a light delivery vehicle and minibus taxi in the Ladysmith area.
Provincial EMS spokesperson Robert McKenzie said, “Sadly, nine sustained fatal injuries…Six are critical and four seriously injured,”
Those injured were taken to the nearest hospital for further treatment.
The accident happened on the Helpmekaar Road near St Chads on Sunday afternoon.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
