Africa has had seven female presidents. These presidents are said to have governed with honor and completed their terms with not many political or personal scandals that might have jeopardized their positions as presidents. Some factions of the South African leading party, The African National Congress, have announced that the next leader for the party should be a female, Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma.
Other people have argued that South Africa is not ready to have a female president. The female in question is the ex wife of current president of South Africa, Jacob Zuma. She has great credentials that speak for her and what she could do for the country. She was the leader of the African Union amongst other things.
There are talks of South Africa not being ready for a female president, as females are sensitive by nature. With that being said then South Africa will never be ready for a female president because evidently females will never stop being sensitive. However, sensitivity should not be a measurement of ones ability to lead.
Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma might just be being punished for her ex husbands faults during his term of presidency. If other African countries could be successfully be led by female, so can South Africa.
