Amazulu legend Cedric ‘Sugar Ray’ Xulu dies

Durban – AmaZulu has confirmed that club legend Cedric ‘Sugar Ray’ Xulu passed away in Pinetown, Durban on Monday evening. The legend was 81 years old.

The club confirmed his passing via their official Twitter account on Monday evening with reports that followed suggesting the legend was suffering from cancer.

“It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sugar Ray Xul, an AmaZulu legend,” said the statement.

“Our condolences go out to all his friends and family during this tragic time.”

Xulu was considered one of South Africa’s greatest players of his time.

AmaZulu are currently n 15th place on the PSL log with six matches remaining in the 2019-2020 season.

There has been no indication of when the season will start as the fight against coronavirus continues
