Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has seemingly all but confirmed Percy Tau’s future.
Tau’s future has been a hot topic in recent weeks following reports that he’ll be leaving English Premier League outfits Brighton and Hove Albion to join up with his former mentor Pitso Mosimane.
While the move made headlines last month, a lot of people believed it fell through the cracks following Tau being registered by Brighton for the 2021/2022 English Premier League campaign.
Broos, however, has dropped a bombshell regarding Tau’s future.
“Percy Tau is an important player. He’s an important player for Bafana Bafana. Again if Percy will not play in the next months, I’ll have a problem” Hugo Broos said regarding the selection of Percy Tau in his latest Bafana Bafana squad.
“But I heard some good news. I think he’s not staying at Brighton. He will go to an Egyptian team with the South African coach Pitso Mosimane at Al Ahly. I think in the next days it will be done and then he’ll have a chance to play regularly so there’ll be no problem for Percy Tau in the future.”
Bafana Bafana is set to first travel to Zimbabwe for a match with the Warriors on September 6 before hosting Ghana at the FNB Stadium on September 9.
