Bafana reaches Four Nations Final

JOHANNESBURG- Bafana Bafana made it into the Four Nations final after defeating Angola in the semi-finals 6-5 on penalties in Ndola Zambia on Wednesday.

The game ended 1-1 after Lebo Mothiba equalized for the South Africa after the team went a goal down in the 31st minute after Djalma Campos scored for the Angolans.

Goalkeeper Darren Keet who plays his club football for Bidvest Wits was the star of the shoot-out, after he produced superb save that sent Bafana into the final.

The final is to be played on Saturday where they will meet hosts Zambia, who also needed penalties to progress into the final after they won their shoot out 5-4 against Zimbabwe, after the game ended 2-2 at full time.

Stuart Baxter Bafana coach, was proud of his team, “The boys showed character against a very stubborn Angola side. We started off a bit slow in the opening minutes and they really came at us. We eventually gained control of the game with the younger players gaining more confidence. The opening goal was a bit unfortunate, but I am glad we recuperated and found the equalizer. It was a great performance and we are looking forward to the final on Saturday”.
