Baloyi denies fraud allegations

JOHANNESBURG – Suspended Black Business Council’s (BBC) President Danisa Baloyi has denied allegations of her involvement in missing R5 million Acsa donation.

Her Lawyer, Lesley Ramulifho says her client is innocent and that the council knows where the donation money went to.

Ramulifho also added that her client is cooperating with the investigation and she too wishes to know where the R5 million amount disappeared to.

“My client is innocent, she has been cooperating since investigations started and I believe the council knows exactly where is the money is.”

“What is surprising is, why are they going after my client? We would be very interested in that paper trail as to how that came about. My client denies any wrongdoing in this,” he added.

Baloyi was suspended from her office following the disappearance of a whopping R5 million which was donated by Airports Company South Africa (Acsa) to the council.

It is reported the money was deposited to a different account belonging to a company called Merit Energy and it is not yet clear how that happened in the first place.

Acsa’s Bongani Maseko says they assumed the money was successfully deposited into the council’s account but they were shocked when the council told them they never received any money.

Investigations are still underway and Baloyi will remain out of her office until investigations are over.
