Banyana superstar Thembi Kgatlana completes move to Spain

South African international player Thembi Kgatlana has secured another deal in Europe, following her departure from Portuguese giants Benfica.

The Banyana superstar announced her name on the world stage with a stunning strike against Spain in the Fifa Women’s World Cup in France in 2019.

Kgatlana is now set to extend her stint in Europe after completing a move to Spain.

She announced on Monday that she had signed for La Liga Iberdrola outfit, Eibar.

The news comes days after some of Kgatlana’s teammates in the national team joined new clubs. Last week forward Jermaine Seoposenwe secured a move to Portugal, joining Sporting Braga. Banyana skipper Janine van Wyk also signed for Glasgow City in Scotland last Wednesday, while defensive partner Nothando Vilakazi signed a deal with Spanish outfit Logrono.

Kgatlana and van Wyk were once teammates at America outfit Houston Dash, where they linked up with former Banyana mentor Vera Pauw.
