Bathabile Dlamini perjury trial resumes

Johannesburg – Former Social Development Minister Bathabile Dlamini is back in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Friday.

Dlamini is facing a charge of perjury for her testimony during an inquiry into the social grant crisis in 2017.

The matter was postponed on Thursday as a witness was not present in court.

Prosecutor tried to have the case postponed to next year.

They say travel arrangements have to be made to get a witness from KwaZulu- Natal to Johannesburg.

But, Magistrate Betty Khumalo gave them until Friday to get it done.
