Bathabile Dlamini snubs eNCA at event against women and child abuse

Durban- An eNCA crew was barred from entering a church in KwaZulu-Natal where Minister of Women in the Presidency Bathabile Dlamini was launching the 16 Days of Activism campaign against women and child abuse.

The independent and privately owned broadcaster, has reported that their journalist Thubalihle Vilane and camera operator Bongumusa Mkhize come to the church but we’re not allowed enter it, located in KwaMagwaza in Melmoth on Sunday.

The news network reported that the minister approached the team and told them she was offended at being filmed. With that her chief of staff, Palesa Mphamo, told the team eNCA must not enter the hall.

The minister refused to speak to any media but the SABC, she said the eNCA was not allowed to because the state broadcaster “knows the parameters”.

eNCA said it will enquire why they were not allowed in to cover the event, which was a government event.
