Better late than never: Driver ‘feeling guilty’ pays 44-year-old parking ticket

Pennsylvania, US- The Minersville, Pennsylvania, Police Department received a letter last week with $5 and a note inside, the driver has cleared their conscious after paying for their ticket 44 years later.

Police Chief Michael Combs tells WNEP-TVthe note said: “Dear PD, I’ve been carrying this ticket around for 40 plus years. Always intending to pay. Forgive me if I don’t give you my info. With respect, Dave.”

Parking ticket was given in 1974 east of Pennsylvania and the only $2 had to be paid. The driver owing the money added a $3 in interest. The ticket today is worth $20.

The department said they could not track down the licensing plates because there is no technology that can do so out of state.
