Black Panther inspired Bucs to derby victory, says Micho

CAPE TOWN –Orlando Pirates head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic revealed how a midweek trip to the movies inspired his side to victory against Kaizer Chiefs in a thrilling Soweto Derby at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.

Pirates ran out as 3-1 winners but may well have scored more had they not missed a number of second-half opportunities.

“On Tuesday we went for a team building and watched the film Black Panther,” said Sredojevic.

“It is a historical African film which has been a special injection of inspection for us to go and prove a point today.

“It has been a dream finish to a week where we took care of everything,” he added.

This victory means Pirates, who are second on the league table, climb back within four points of log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.

“I stand here in front of you but all the members of the technical team and the players have worked hard during the week,” he said.

He added that he wants his team to build on the win and shift focus quickly to their upcoming fixtures.

“We need to continue to improve to ensure football does not punch us back in the games against Cape Town City or Golden Arrows.”

Pirates will play against Cape Town City next week, before meeting with Golden Arrows for the Absa Premiership clash.
