
SIERRA LEONE- A brawl started in Sierra Leone parliament after the start swearing in of new MP’s, after the general elections last month.
All People’s Congress (APC) members disrupted the proceedings, after 16 of their members were asked to leave the chamber after a high court interdict against them.
The scenes were chaotic and uncontrollable, the situation led the clerk to announce a brief adjournment.
The police were called in.
APC members were either taken out forcefully, others left in protest. The swearing-in of other MPs then got under way, the party is the biggest in parliament but however lost the presidency to Julius Maada Bio of the Sierra Leone People’s Party.
