BREAKING NEWS: Oscar Pistorius Attacked by Inmates

Pretoria – Oscar Pistorius is licking his wounds following his attack by a few inmates at the Atteridgeville Correctional Centre last night.

The blade runner was beaten up when inmates apparently became irritated by his long phone calls on the prison phone.

According to sources and witnesses, inmates had been waiting for quite a long time on the queue waiting to make their phone calls.

Pistorius was apparently talking to his lawyer, Barry Roux, following the recent appeal. In the appeal, judgement has been reserved in the State’s appeal to have former paralympic medalist’s six year sentence for murder of his girlfriend increased.

Although his lawyer is still arguing, the former athlete will not stop making long phone calls to the lawyer since his sentence was extended to 13 years.

Fellow inmates warned him to end his calls but he wouldn’t budge, which is when the fight broke out.

Ofentse Morwane, spokesman of Gauteng Correctional Service said: “Oscar Pistorius sustained a minor injury. An internal investigation will establish the facts and ensure that appropriate action is taken as incidents of assaults are not allowed.”

The paralymic athlete suffered injuries on his ribs as well as his back. He is being taken care of by nurses in the prison clinic and will soon be back to taking his long phone calls.
