
LONDON- Britain has kicked out 23 Russian Diplomats, this is the biggest diplomatic crisis since the Cold War. This is in retaliation of the chemical attack on a former Russian double agent who is living in England.
The British government blames Moscow for the attack, an assessment backed by the United States.
May is solely blaming President Vladimir Putin and on Wednesday she outline the counter measures in reaction to the attack.
Russia has denied any involvement in the incident where ex-spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia, who have been critical in hospital since they were found unconscious on 4 March on a bench in the city of Salisbury.
May initially give a deadline of midnight on Tuesday to explain how a nerve agent only made by the Russians come into streets of Salisbury England.
May’s statement in parliament she said, “Their response demonstrated complete disdain for the gravity of these events,”
“They have treated the use of a military-grade nerve agent in Europe with sarcasm, contempt and defiance.”
May’s conclusion was that only country responsible could be the Russian state, say they were behind the attempted murder of the Skripals and the harm that befell Nick Bailey, a police officer who is in a serious condition after being exposed to the nerve agent, she said.
“This represents an unlawful use of force by the Russian state against the United Kingdom,”
“Many of us looked at a post-Soviet Russia with hope. We wanted a better relationship and it is tragic that President Putin has chosen to act in this way.”
They have decided to expel 23 Russians.
