Broos announces squad to face Guinea and France

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has announced a 23-man squad that will face both Guinea and France in back-to-back international friendlies this month.

Bafana are set to travel to France in the upcoming FIFA break to play Guinea on March 25 and France on March 29, 2022.

Having announced his 25-man preliminary squad last week, Broos trimmed the team to 23 with a few surprise inclusions in it.

Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma has cracked the nod despite not getting any game time under Stuart Baxter in recent months.

He joins captain Ronwen Willliams and AmaZulu’s Veli Mothwa in the goalkeeping department for these two international friendlies. Broos appears to have succumbed to the pressure from South African football fans as he’s included Mamelodi Sundowns wing-back Lyle Lakay in his squad.

Another underrated Sundowns star in Khuliso Mudau has been included in the Bafana Bafana squad after some impressive performances for the club.

Orlando Pirates midfielder Goodman Mosele returns to the setup while his club teammates Thabang Monare and Bandile Shandu have also done enough to be on the plane to France.

Al Ahly striker Percy Tau is among the strikers to lead the Bafana Bafana attack in Paris.
