Cape Town – Top South African comedians will be hosting a fundraising show to help over 2.000 orphaned and needy children with their school essentials.
The show, slated for 29 and 30 December at Academia Auditorium in Lansdowne, was organised by the Islamic Relief South Africa.
Loyiso Gola, Yaaseen Barnes, Rob Van Vuuren and Joey Rasdien are among the jokesters who will be providing the laughs in the show.
Islamic Relief South Africa’s Shanaaz Ebrahim said the show will help raise the much needed money to fund various school essentials needed by children.
“We’ve got about 2,000 children that are in need of stationary, school uniform, winter and summer uniform, as well as basics, such as school shoes and school socks, they also need hygiene items.”
“So” he continued, “all proceeds from this comedy show will be going towards the Back to School campaign so we can acquire all the necessary items.”
He encouraged people to attend not only to enjoy the show but also to help those children in need.
“We are calling for people to come in numbers to enjoy the show and also to support these children,” he said.
Ebrahim says tickets will be released soon for people to buy, adding that people are free to pay on the entrance.
