Cape Town in for a cold‚ wet weekend while Joburg urged to bundle up

CAPE TOWN- As temperatures continue to drop it will be a good idea to keep a jersey in hand in many parts of South Africa, as the expected cooler temperatures will continue and colder and wet conditions for Cape Town .

Lebogang Makgati forecaster for South African Weather Service forecast said that Cape Town at 27°C and Port Elizabeth at 25°C would be warm on Friday ahead of expected weekend rain.

The current temperatures for Johannesburg and Pretoria on Friday were at 22˚C and 23˚C respectively. Durban was partly cloudy at 23˚C.

Cape Town can expect rain on Saturday evening into Sunday. The rainfall is predicted at 30%  of light showers is expected‚ mainly in the city centre area.

The rain will extend to outlying areas such as Paarl and Worcester. However there is a higher chance of rain along the Cape West Coast in places like Langebaan and Vredendal.

Makgati said, “Johannesburg‚ Pretoria and Durban will be partly cloudy on Saturday. Port Elizabeth will be fine and warm.”

On Sunday‚ Cape Town will hopefully experience much needed rain, with cooler temperatures, but the temperatures in Port Elizabeth will drop, with a 60% chance of showers.
