CASE OVER MARLI VAN BREDA’S FUTURE CARE POSTPONED

CAPE TOWN- The application over the future care arrangements for Marli van Breda was postponed in the Western Cape High Court on Monday to allow her current curator to finalise her report.

Marli van Breda was the only survivor or the attack her brother Henri van Breda executed, when he axed his parents and older brother to death, he was sentenced to life for each murder last week.

News24 has received curatorship from Louise Buikman that the application was postponed to July 31 to enable her to finalise her report.

The matter will determine whether Buikman curatorship will be extended after the deadly attack in 2015, where Buikman has requested for the curatorship to be extended.

Marli suffered serious head injuries that led to retrograde amnesia, this means she cant remember what happened that fatal night. Her injuries were serious that doctors thought she would die and she indicated that she fought of her brother during the attack.

The state said during sentence that the victims impact report would not be handed in, however they indicated that Marli’s life had change forever.

Henri van Breda has indicted that he will be appealing his conviction and sentence, the appeal hearing is set for June 27.
