Johannesburg- The Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) has come out to say the racially charged email, allegedly written by a senior CCMA commissioner, is a fake.

Twitter exploded on Monday when an email was posted on a Twitter account, which claimed that a senior commissioner at the Benoni branch of the CCMA, mistakenly sent a racist email that referred to employees at an arbitration as “corrupt monkeys”.

CCMA spokesperson Dumisani Mavundla said they dispute the validity of the email.

“It’s not a CCMA email. We are internally investigating the matter. Our emails are watermarked. I asked Mampuru Mampuru to send me the details of the email and I am still waiting.”

Many demanded some action from the CCMA.
