Christopher Panayiotou found guilty of wife’s murder

PORT ELIZABETH – Port Elizabeth businessman Christopher Panayiotou, together with co-accused Sinethemba Nenembe and Zolani Sibeko, have been found guilty for the murder of Jayde Panayiotou in April 2015.

Christopher Panayiotou was on Thursday celebrating his 31st birthday when judge Deyalin Chetty found him guilty for masterminding the murder of his wife.

It is believed Panayiotou hired hitmen to murder his wife Jayde Panayiotou, who was a school teacher.

Jayde’s body was found on the outskirts of Uitenhage a day after she was kidnapped.

Panayiotou looked perplexed as judge Chetty convicted him for orchestrating the murder for his wife.

His sisters broke into tears as judge Chetty read the statement and convicted their brother for the brutal murder of his wife.

Panayiotou’s case took a sudden turn when a secret recording was presented before the court as evidence to cement his fate.

His co-accused, Sibeko has been found guilty for murder and conspiracy to murder whilst Nenembe has been convicted of robbery with aggravating circumstances and murder.

According to Judge Chetty, the State has proven beyond reasonable doubt that Panayiotou and the two co-accused Sibeko and Nenembe had a hand in the murder of Jayde Panayiotou.

Panayiotou and the co-accused are set to re-appear in court on the 17th of November for sentencing proceedings.
