Cop Couple Murdered

A married couple of two police officers was shot and killed at their own Delta home this week. Their bodies were discovered on Wednesday 22 November.

It is still unknown as to who killed the couple but there are a few theories as to how the whole thing went down.

Police suspect that one of the officers killed the other and then themselves. Although this theory was not confirmed and detectives are now working on the investigation as to how the murder occurred.

The officers’ neighbours reported that they heard loud music playing in their house for hours, without knowing that they were dead. Constable Anele MNatshiya, stationed at Durbanville Police Station, has finished his shift at 1am and went home to his wife, Constable Ntomby Gaven, stationed at Cape Town Central.

When Constable Matsinya did not show up for his shift, his commander became worried and sent a team to his home. After long minutes of knocking in the door, the police eventually forced their way into the house and were astonished to find two dead bodies.

A packed backpack with Matsinya’s clothes was found in the room. Captain Van Wyk was at the crime scene and confirmed the deaths of the two cops.

“We have two of our members, both 38 years old. The husband came home [Tuesday] morning about 1am from work, and according to reports, the neighbours just heard loud music,” he said.
