
North West – A 29 year old man and 19 year old woman have been arrested after being caught dealing drugs on Tuesday.
The couple was arrested at Leemhuis section near Klerksdorp by the North West HAWKS.
They were found with about 2090 Mandrax tablets with an estimated street value of R105 000.
They also found a large stash of money in their rented apartment during the big search by the HAWKS.
The HAWKS had been following this drug dealing activities which took place at their residence. When the HAWKS arrived at the suspects home, they attempted flushing some of the drugs down the drain but were caught before they could get rid of them all.
The couple has not been identified in names as yet but have been arrested since Tuesday.
The two suspects are to appear in the Klerksdorp Magistrate Court on 11 October, facing charges of drug dealing. They have not yet been sentenced or granted bail but remain behind bars until their court case.
The HAWKS however, are still investigating more on this drug dealing, finding the supplier as well as finding the bigger bosses in the industry.
The drug problem is slowly increasing in the South African market. More news will be reported about the progress of the case and more drug searches and dealings in South Africa.
