Johannesburg – The Labour Court in Johannesburg has granted Clover an interdict against striking unions at its operations.
It is the second interdict secured in relation to the strike since it started.
Those on strike have been interdicted from intimidating non-striking workers, damaging company property, and using social media platforms.
Clover says it moved to secure a further court interdict to get unions GIWUSA and FAWU to publicly denounce all forms of violence.
Unions are calling for the reversal of retrenchments following Clover’s merger with Milco.
According to Clover, the striking unions represent 48% to 49% of the company’s workforce in South Africa.
