Covid-19 in SA: 13,992 new cases, 11 deaths recorded

Johannesburg – Authorities said 13,992 new Covid-19 cases have been recorded in the last 24 hours.

Gauteng remains the hotspot with 6,711 new infections.

That is followed by KwaZulu-Natal with 2,715 cases. The Western Cape is on 1,464 new infections.

The rest of the provinces including North-West, Eastern Cape and Mpumalanga, all remain under a thousand.

The positivity rate rose to 31.0%.

11 more people have died bringing the death toll to 90,148.
