Covid-19: KZN facing eye of the storm – Zikalala

Durban – KZN Premier Sihle Zikalala says the province is facing the eye of the storm.

The premier says over 16,000 beds have been reserved for Covid-19 patients.

“We are now facing the storm, it is here with us. We are ready and prepared.

“Right now we have 16,000 beds that will be assisting those who will be infected as the numbers continue to escalate,” he said.

Zikalala is urging those infected to admit themselves for isolation in government facilities.

“We are encouraging people to come forward once they have tested positive, let them come for self-isolation in government facilities as that will help us to monitor them,” he said.

The premier responding to the health minister’s concern over the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the province.
