JOHANNESBURG- A debate has been going around about Absa bank’s brand new logo, which social media users say is way too similar to that of Telkom subsidiary Open Serve.
However designers and Absa see it very differently, saying theirs was created with a font specially designed for the bank, called “Absa Brave”.
Absa re branding campaign grabbed the attention with its extensive advertising, such as the re-launch party that featured 300 drones flying at the launch, showing of their new branding. But some Twitter users had a field day when they compared Absa logo with Open serve logo and they suggested many similarities to the logos.
Both logos were designed by he South African branding agency Grid Worldwide.
