Johannesburg- Lawyers for South African Football Association boss Danny Jordaan said their client has no reason to doubt that he will be re-elected as football boss later this week despite fresh allegations of sexual harassment.
According to a Sunday Times reported on Sunday the niece of a top politician, who is also a prominent author, opened a case of sexual harassment against Jordaan at the Parkview Police Station last week.
This case adds to the case where singer Sarah Ferguson accused Jordaan of raping her over 25 years ago in a Port Elizabeth hotel.
Jordaan has dismissed all the claims, and the fresh new allegations, claiming the claims as a smear campaign to discredit his attempt to be re-elected as SAFA boss.
Mamodupi Mohlala-Mulaudzi, Jordaan’s lawyer, said these claims should be tested in a court of law.
“We find it interesting that this matter being lodged as far back as March is only being made in May in the week leading up to the Safa conference. We are clear that our client is innocent of the allegations.”
