Johannesburg – Protest action has begun in Diepsloot in Johannesburg.
A call for a total shutdown was made on several social media platforms.
Organisers say residents want an end to crime and violence in the area.
They are demanding more police visibility and want to speak to Police Minister, Bheki Cele.
Organisers say the area will be shut down for two days.
