Drew Barrymore expresses the hardships of homeschooling her children during the Covid-19 pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic is one that has left many households affected. With social distancing and lockdown regulations passed worldwide, parenting in many households has been restructured. Parents such as Star Drew Barrymore have had to balance keeping up with work demands, being caregivers to young children as well as being educators.
During a video chat with Today’s show Savannah Guthrie on Tuesday, actress Drew Barrymore vented how she has “cried every day while home-schooling her daughters during the pandemic”.
She admitted to the challenges of being a working mother and home-schooling her kids not being an easy task. She also expressed how she has a “good handle “on everything and running her household until school started. According to the star she compares the task to be like “every church and state” as it was challenging being a “the teacher, the parent, the disciplinarian, the caretaker”.
Barrymore’s experience of educating her two young daughters aged 7 and 5 has led to her having a newfound respect for educators for their strength and resilience. She does however consider herself to be blessed and exclaims how despite her experiences, and chooses to find positivity and happiness in every moment.
