ESKOM UPS ITS WAGE OFFER TO UNIONS TO 6.7%

JOHANNESBURG- Eskom has increased their wage offer to 6.7%.

Yesterday unions rejected 6.2% offer, demanding for a 9% increase.

The parties have been deadlock in talks for a couple of days with no end ins sight.

Eskom’s Khulu Phasiwe says talks are continuing but unions seem to have indicated that they will send the matter to the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation, and Arbitration (CCMA), “It’s frustrating though that some people are now negotiating through the media. They are basically now giving a blow-by-blow account on what’s going on with negotiations. From our side, we really like that they wait until the formal negotiations are concluded.”
