Esther Mahlangu Robbery: One suspect out on bail, another remains in custody

Johannesburg – The two men arrested for the robbery and assault on Esther Mahlangu appeared in court on Friday.

Simon Kgantshi Skhosana will remain in custody for a formal bail application.

Skhosana has refused legal assistance saying he will represent himself.

Jan Masilela, who is the second accused in the matter, has been granted R3,000 bail. He was found in possession of Mahlangu’s firearm and will return to court on May 10.

The 87-year-old Ndebele artist was attacked in her home in Siyabuswa.
