Fadlu Davids: Happy Jele would be a top coach

Orlando Pirates assistant coach Fahlu Davids has showered Happy Jele with praise after the defender’s milestone this past weekend.

Jele featured in his 400th official match for Pirates against Swallows, and thus becoming the first player to achieve this at the club in the PSL era.

Davids further spoke about the importance of Jele at Pirates, saying one of the centre-back’s qualities is managing new players and keeping the club’s dressing room alive.

“Jele is consistent whenever he performs. One of his qualities is managing new players and keeping players together in the change room,” said Davids.

He added that Jele would make a great coach once he retires from football and decides to venture into coaching.

But for now, he wants Jele to focus more on his playing career as he believes the 34-year-old can easily reach 500 games next month.

“He is a great leader and I believe he would be a top coach one day because when we change structure on how we do our pressing, our voice on the pitch is Happy,” said Davids.

“I had a chat with him that next season he could easily reach 500 matches. He is a huge asset for the club on and off the pitch,” he added.
