First Pics of rapper Meek Mill after being released from prison

PHILADELPHIA- Meek Mill, Philadelphia born rapper made his first public appearance after being released from prison after a probation violation.

On Tuesday the rapper was released after five months in prison after a celebrity campaign to get him out. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court ordered the Philadelphia court to release him immediately, granting him a new hearing because of the “credibility issues with a police officer who was a ‘critical witness’” in his 2008 gun and drug convictions, court documents show.

Meek Mill said in a statement on Twitter after being released, “I’d like to thank God, my family and all my public advocates for their love, support and encouragement during this difficult time,”

“While the past five months have been a nightmare, the prayers, visits, calls, letters and rallies have helped me stay positive.”

In November last year the rapper was sentenced two to four years in prison for probation violations. His arrest was in relation to allegedly driving recklessly in his motorcycle during a shoot of a music video.

He recognized that many people of colour do not have the same privilege he did to get him freed, he thank the likes of Jay Z, New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and Philadelphia mayor Jim Kenney for their help in the campaign for his release.
