Former Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates coach Gordon Igesund insists that nobody can stop Sundowns from lifting the DStv Premiership trophy.
Igesund said that for Sundowns to lose the league now they would need to implode spectacularly.
After beating Baroka FC, Sundowns have established a 15-point advantage over Kaizer Chiefs in second place.
While the former coach feels Amakhosi will be the normal challengers to Sundowns, he said that it was highly unlikely they could hall in the Brazilians.
“Sundowns worked very hard early in the season. Now it’s very hard to topple them. No team can really manage to catch up with them. It’s gonna be very difficult for them not to win the league. It’s harder for them to lose the league. For me, it’s already obvious that it’s a one-horse race,’’ said Igesund.
“For Chiefs to go on top, they need to win at least five games in a row and expect Downs to lose about four games, which won’t happen. Sundowns won’t lose more than four games this season, that’s my personal view.’’
He said there was bags of experience at Sundowns and they are simply too good for the chasing pack.
