People who are thinking of toning up some dishes like tofu scramble do not come to their minds. But it is time people considered the ‘power of plant’.
Plants are a brilliant source of a hunger-curbing protein, that is perfect fuel that is meant to form quads and biceps.
Ginger Hultin a nutritionist from Seattle explains, “Vegan athletes don’t actually have very different protein needs than athletes who include meat in their diets.”
“There are a lot of protein sources equivalent to meat that have the added benefits of different vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.”
Julieanna Hever, a vegan dietitian from Los Angeles and author of The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Plant-Based Nutrition says, “If you’re eating healthy whole foods in a plant-based diet, it’s impossible not to get enough protein.”
Her argument is also based on the fact that ‘the world’s largest muscled animals, such as elephants, gorillas and hippos, eat mostly plants.’
Sheth, who’s also a spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, also says, “you want a combination of protein, healthy fats and carbs to give you the right amount of energy to push through a workout.”
