
JOHANNESBURG- Stillwater’s Mine has confirmed that a fourth miner’s body has been found in their Kloof mine.
Rescuers have found the fourth body at Sibanye-Stillwater’s Kloof mine, southwest of Johannesburg.
On Monday three miners were confirmed dead and NUM said that in fact four miners had died but the company refuted this claim earlier on.
Thabisile Phumo Stillwater’s Mine’s spokesperson said that rescue teams had worked over night to rescue and find the miners.
The rescue team has not found the fifth miner.
The mine has decided to suspend mining operations at the Kloof Ikamva shaft on Tuesday for a day of mourning.
The Kloof mine lays on a deep end of the ultra gold mine operations that consists five shaft that produces mine open hound and pillars. The deepest working level is 3.3 km underground.
Stillwater’s has sent out their “deepest condolences” to the families, friends and colleagues.
