JOHANNESBURG – Former National Treasury Director General Lungisa Fuzile continues his testimony at the state capture inquiry on Thursday.
Fuzile told the Zondo Commission on Wednesday, that he was told he would get a Gupta minister on the night Nhlanhla Nene was removed.
He said that public enterprise minister Pravin Gordhan asked him to stay at his position when he returned as finance minister. He was referring to his reasons why he left National Treasury.
Fuzile shared some of the pressure they faced in the department, including how they were directed to allocate money to the national budget.
Gordhan finished his testimony on Wednesday, he defended his daughter after the EFF accused that she received tenders when her father was finance minister.
