Johannesburg – The family of anti-apartheid activist Abdullah Haron is determined that their quest for justice, will not end with the death of FW de Klerk.
Imam Haron died in police detention in Cape Town in 1969.
The imam’s daughter, Fatiema, pleaded with the current government to rise to the occasion and grant the families of apartheid’s martyrs some peace.
“I’m asking you President Ramaphosa, if this was your father, your mother, or your sister would you want to know the truth and seek justice?” she asked.
“We, as the Haron family, have waited 50 years. 50 years is a very long time for us to be able to understand the truth in the deaths of our loved one.”
