Gauteng ANC to hold special PEC on PPE tender

Johannesburg – The ANC in Gauteng will convene a special Provincial Executive Committee to discuss alleged corruption in the procurement of PPEs.

The party has met with Premier David Makhura and those implicated.

Provincial Health MEC Bandile Masuku has been linked to a lucrative tender for PPE in Gauteng.

It is alleged that a R125-million contract was awarded to Royal Bhaca, a company owned by the husband of Presidency spokesperson Khusela Diko.

However, Masuku has distanced himself from the tender while Diko has taken a leave of absence pending a probe into the claims. The leading party says the provincial government will present a detailed report.
