Golden Globe 2018: Stars wearing black on the red carpet

The red carpet of the 75th Golden Globes has been dominated by just one colour- black. Actresses attending the event wore black gowns in support of the Time’s Up movement, standing in solidarity with victims of sexual assault and harassment.

A great number of men wore Time’s Up pin badges or black shirts with their suits.

The star of Outlander Catriona Balfe, as well as Will and Grace’s Debra Messing and Yvonne Strahovski of The Handmaid’s Tale are among the many wearing all black.

Some decided not to wear all black and chose to wear a splash of colour. That included singer turned actress Mandy Moore, Get Out actress Allison Williams and singer Kelly Clarkson.

A number of celebrities are sporting lapel pins and badges in favour of Time’s Up and 50:50, campaigns with intent on fighting sexual harassment and gender inequality in the entertainment industry. Actors William H Macy and David Harbour were seen sporting Time’s Up lapel pins, while The Crown’s Claire Foy wears a 50:50 button on the cuff of her striking tuxedo jacket.

Actresses Angelina Jolie, America Ferrera, and Nicole were joined by activist Tarana Burke, all dressed in black.

Winners of the night included actress Nicole Kidman who was named best actress in a limited series or motion picture for TV for Big Little Lies.
