Gordhan’s spokesperson resigns

Johannesburg – Public Enterprise Minister Pravin Gordhan spokesperson Sam Mkokel has resigned.

The department made the announcement on Sunday night.

Mkokeli is expected to leave office at the end of November.

He publicly criticised Gordhan for investigating whistleblowers.

Mkokeli said this is creating an environment of fear.

It is alleged Gordhan ordered an investigation to find whistleblowers who leaked information about his Chief off Staff, Nthabiseng Borotho.

Borotho is believed to have been hired despite meeting minimum requirements.
