Johannesburg – Former eThekwini mayor, Zandile Gumede’s trial date has been set.
Gumede will appear in the High Court in Pietermaritzburg on July 18.
Together with 21 co-accused, she faces about 2000 charges, including fraud, money laundering and racketeering.
The matter relates to a multi-million rand Durban solid waste tender awarded in 2017.
Gumede is currently on R50,000 bail. She was removed from her mayoral position in 2019.
