Johannesburg – The Hawks will hand over the case involving Norma Gigaba to police after she appears in court on Monday.
Questions have been asked about the involvement of the elite unit over a case of assault and malicious damage to property.
The case was brought by her husband former Minister of Finance Malusi Gigaba and another man but it appears there is a lot more to this than meets the eye.
Hawks insiders have confirmed that Norma Gigaba is being investigated for allegedly conspiring to murder her husband but the unit’s spokesperson won’t confirm this.
He only says that recently opened malicious damage to property and assault case will be handed over to a police detective after Norma appears in court.
This, however, does not explain why the unit initially handled these relatively minor charges. It follows a video that emerged some days ago, showing a Mercedes Benz G-Class which has been damaged.
Norma allegedly scratched the SUV, belonging to Malusi’s friend Peterson Siyaya.
Siyaya is also a complainant in the case against Norma.
