Johannesburg – The Health Portfolio Committee’s last round of public hearings on the National Health Insurance Bill is underway.
The committee began virtual public hearings on the NHI Bill last May.
The bill is currently undergoing public consultation and a private hospital group said the proposed system poses several threats to healthcare in the country.
The committee has hosted the hearings in 33 district municipalities.
The African National Congress and the Democratic Alliance are expected to table their final submissions.
