Johannesburg – Home Affairs is extending its operating hours until 6pm on weekdays at selected offices.
However, this is only for the application and collection of Smart ID Cards and Passports.
The department says this is to cater to a surge in demand during the winter school holidays.
Parents are encouraged to use the Branch Appointment Booking System to schedule visits.
