
TOKYO- Former Barcelona midfielder Andre Iniesta has signed with Japanese side Vissel Kobe, as he starts his new chapter after being with Barcelona for sixteen years.
The J-League side signed the player on Thursday.
Iniesta now 34 was introduced by his new side in a news conference in Tokyo by club owner Hiroshi Mikitani.
Earlier in the day Iniesta posted on Instagram of a photo of himself and Mikitani with a message that he was “heading to my new home”.

Mikitani a billionaire and also founder and CEO of Rakuten, Barcelona’s main sponsor, and has been personally involved in securing Iniesta’s services, according to local media reports.

Japanese club Kobe currently sits sixth in the J-League first division log after 15 games played, having finished ninth in the table last season.
