LONDON- Jacob Stockdale Irish winger was awarded for his outstanding performances, after scoring a record breaking seven tries during the tournament to help Ireland lift the Six Nations trophy this season.
Stockdale only 21 years old scored against England, Wales, Italy, and Scotland to help the Irish to their third Grand slam title.
He said, “It’s been a truly memorable few weeks, making my first Six Nations appearance, winning the championship then going on to complete the Grand Slam against England,” said Stockdale. “Breaking the try-scoring record was the cherry on top.”
He beat out his Irish teammates Conor Murray and Johnny Sexton to get the prize, voted by a select group of media experts.
His record seven tries mates broke the previous record of six tries by Englishmen Chris Aston, Will Greenwood and Wales winger Shane Williams.
